What is Tarot?

The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards divided into 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana, very similar to today’s playing cards. The origin of the cards is steeped in mystery, but they seem to have originated in C15th Italy when a set was commissioned for the Visconti family in Milan to be used as a card game called Tarocchi. Although today the cards are still used as a game, they are more likely to be known as a “fortune-telling” device. Through the cards and their use of symbolism a Tarot reader can give insight and guidance through allowing the client a new outlook onto their situation

Is it fortune-telling?

These days the old image of the Tarot reader, complete with shawls and crystal ball is slowly receding. Few professional readers are fortune-tellers, instead we use the Tarot for guidance and insight; helping you see your own future more clearly.
